To protect the accuracy and confidentiality of every polygraph exam, only the individual being tested is allowed in the exam room — no exceptions. Minors are not permitted unless they are the person being tested.
Please note: If you arrive with a child who is not receiving the exam, you will not be allowed to proceed with your appointment. Because your exam time has been reserved exclusively for you, your deposit will be forfeited, and a new deposit will be required to reschedule.

What To Expect During Polygraph Exam?
Since polygraph exams- or as some people call them, lie detector tests- are performed for different reasons, the process can vary a bit but the general process is as follows.
First, the examiner will talk with you and discuss the exam, what questions will be asked to make sure that you fully understand them, and the general process that they will be following.
Next, you will be attached to the polygraph machine. Don’t worry, there is no discomfort caused by the machine. It simply reads your bodily responses to the questions. The machine records things like blood pressure, heart rate, breathing, and sweat gland activity. These measurements are charted on graphs or stored in the memory of computerized polygraph units.
Once the exam is completed, the examiner will analyze the data and score the measurements to determine if the answers provided are the truth, deception, or is determined to be inconclusive.
How Accurate is a Polygraph Test?
If you have spent any time at all looking at accuracy rates for a polygraph, you won’t come up with one solid answer. The honest answer is, it depends. And it would take many hours to explain why it depends. So the most factual, quick answer I can give you based on statistical fact is the following:
The American Polygraph Association states that a properly conducted, specific issue examination performed by a properly trained professional will yield an accuracy rate between 92% and 98%. By the way, the ‘properly conducted,’ ‘specific issue’, and ‘properly trained professional’ parts of that sentence are what give you those numbers, not the polygraph itself.
If I'm nervous, could that make it look like I'm lying when I'm not?
There is a widespread concern regarding nervousness having an effect on the polygraph test. Being nervous will NOT affect the test. However, nervousness is to be expected. To put your mind at ease, I will tell you that the simplest explanation is this. If you are nervous about taking a polygraph test, you will constantly be nervous throughout the polygraph. That level of nervousness will be a baseline so to speak. When you tell the truth or lie to a particular question, your physical reaction is specific to that question and that moment in time. The two things look very different on the polygraph charts.
Why does the polygraph test take 2 - 3 hours?
A thorough and trustworthy polygraph test can take a few hours because the examiner wants to ensure that they have performed the exam properly, established a solid baseline to compare the results to and sufficient time to analyze the data.
